As part of the 2026 summer camps, the Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) met with participants of the Dmanisi Youth Camp. The meeting was held within the framework of cooperation between the CEC and the Youth Agency.
The meeting with the young participants was opened by CEC Chair Giorgi Kalandarishvili and Tornike Shubitidze, First Deputy Head of the Youth Agency.
Elections and the role of young people, the election administration’s experience and successful practices in implementing electronic voting technologies, disinformation and related challenges - these are just some of the topics on which CEC Chair Giorgi Kalandarishvili personally briefed the young participants. According to Giorgi Kalandarishvili, active communication with young people is important to ensure that they receive accurate and comprehensive information on election-related issues from an early age. This, on the one hand, helps reduce their vulnerability to disinformation and, on the other, promotes independent and informed decision-making.
“We held an interesting meeting with participants of the Dmanisi Youth Camp, organized by our partner, the Youth Agency. Meetings of this kind will continue both in Dmanisi and in various regions. During these meetings, we have the opportunity not only to provide young people with information on important election-related issues, but also to hear their feedback, views and questions. Through open communication and information exchange, this allows us to help raise young people’s awareness of electoral issues, as well as encourage greater interest in electoral processes”, the CEC Chair said following the meeting.
As part of the meeting, Giorgi Kalandarishvili presented participants with the election administration’s journal, “Elections 360˚,” noting that the publication provides readers with comprehensive and multifaceted information on current electoral issues.
It is noteworthy that the election administration continues its active cooperation with the Youth Agency. Within the framework of the Summer Camps project, senior officials and representatives of the election administration are holding information meetings in various regions of the country.
The meeting held in Dmanisi was also attended by members of the Dmanisi District Election Commission and the regional representative for Kvemo Kartli, Iakob Asanidze.
