It is particularly noteworthy that the resolution was submitted to the UN with the strong support and co-authorship of our partners, including the US and EU member states. Such a statement made today David Bakradze, Georgia`s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, while commenting the recent UN resolution.

"This resolution underlines Georgia`s sovereignty and territorial integrity while also supporting the right of internally displaced persons and refugees to return to their homes with dignity.

This year, the resolution was co-sponsored by 64 countries and received support from a record 107 states. Notably, the number of supporters has increased by 4.

It is particularly significant that the resolution was introduced with the robust support and co-authorship of key partners, notably including the US and EU member states. Moreover, the increase in support from regions vital to Georgia - such as Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa - reflects the international community`s recognition of Georgia’s consistent policy of peaceful conflict resolution and integration. A special role in this success goes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its leadership, whose personal involvement made this achievement possible.
