Georgian Irakli Kobakhidze met with Feridun Sinirlioğlu, Secretary General of the OSCE.
The conversation at the meeting focused on cooperation with the OSCE, the situation in the region, and challenges facing Georgia. The Prime Minister thanked the OSCE Secretary General for visiting Georgia and maintaining close cooperation.
Georgia’s commitment to democratic principles, human rights, and the rule of law was reaffirmed.
The parties discussed the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. It was noted that the Georgian side appreciates the OSCE’s co-chairmanship of the Geneva International Discussions and participation in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism. The Georgian Government’s commitment to peace policy was brought to the fore.
Special attention in the meeting at the Government Administration was paid to the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus Region, and Georgia’s efforts to this end. As it was pointed out, it is important that the OSCE remain the key platform for dialogue on the architecture of European security.
