As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Tbilisi Main Division of the Investigation Department of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained a senior specialist of the East Regional Division of the state subordinated agency - Department of Environmental Supervision on the fact of bribe-taking.

Investigation determined that the accused person, in order to receive personal material benefits, In Dusheti Municipality, in exchange for the removal of a fertile layer of forest fund in the area of his supervision, demanded a bribe of GEL 15 000 from a citizen, and was detained while receiving GEL 10 000 as a first payment.

Investigation is underway under the second part, paragraph “b” of article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 7 to 11 years.
