Employees of the SSSG arrested a citizen of Georgia for illegal handling of nuclear material

As a result of a joint operation conducted by employees of the Counterintelligence Department and the Special Operations Department of the State Security Service of Georgia, a citizen of Georgia has been arrested for the illegal handling of nuclear material, specifically the radioactive substance - uranium.

The investigation established that the arrested individual was planning to sell the nuclear material "Uranium-238" in his possession to a foreign citizen for USD 700,000.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 230 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment as a penalty.
