The Batumi City Court fully accepted the evidence presented by the Prosecutor`s Office and found two foreign citizens guilty of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a particularly large amount of narcotics.

The evidence examined at the trial confirmed that the defendants illegally purchased and stored a particularly large amount, 3748.803 grams of the narcotic drug "Methadone" and created conditions for its illegal sale. The said narcotic drug and the items necessary for packaging were seized by the employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of the searches conducted.

The Batumi City Court found the defendants guilty under Article 260, Part 2, Subparagraphs "a", "b" and "a" of Part 3 (illegal purchase and storage of large and especially large quantities of narcotic drugs in a group), Article 260, Part 6, Subparagraph "a" (facilitation of the illegal sale of especially large quantities of narcotic drugs) of the Criminal Code of Georgia and sentenced one person to 18 years in prison and the other to 19 years in prison.
