CEC continues information meetings in cooperation with the Youth Agency

The Central Election Commission (CEC), in cooperation with the Youth Agency, continues to hold informational meetings with young people.

The latest meeting was held in Dusheti and was opened by the CEC Press Spokesperson, Natia Ioseliani. In her address to the youth, she focused on such important issues as the significance of elections and the role of voters in the development of democratic processes. Natia Ioseliani devoted particular attention to the issue of disinformation, identifying it as one of the principal challenges of the electoral process; she also familiarized the youth with the election administration`s strategy in this regard. The CEC Press Spokesperson further spoke about the educational and training projects implemented by the CEC in relation to young people.

The youth also received information on how elections are organized and on the institutional structure of the election administration; these issues were explained to them in detail by Maia Veltauri, Chairperson of the Dusheti District Election Commission.

The meeting with youth in Dusheti was held on 28 April and was attended by up to 40 young participants.

The meeting took place within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation concluded between the CEC, the Youth Agency, and other partner institutions.

The memorandum provides for the implementation of joint educational and informational campaigns aimed at raising youth awareness, as well as the organization of conferences, seminars, and working meetings. Within the framework of the memorandum, meetings with young people are being held progressively across various regions.
