Police seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Tbilisi and the regions

As part of an active campaign against organized crime, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs recently detained 12 individuals in Tbilisi and regions on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition, following police and preventive measures.

During searches of the suspects’ persons, residences, vehicles, and storage areas, law enforcement officers seized firearms, automatic weapons, a hand grenade, magazines, and live ammunition as evidence.

The investigation is ongoing under Article 236 of the Criminal Code.
