The Economic Policy Committee reviewed draft laws in the II reading

At the committee meeting, MPs considered the draft laws in the II reading. The First Deputy Chair of the “Georgian Dream” faction, Levan Machavariani, introduced the draft law on Official Statistics and the draft Rules of Procedure.

The Committee approved the draft amendments, which provide for the appointment of the Executive Director of Geostat by the Prime Minister for a four-year term.

Regarding the government’s legislative initiative - the draft law on the Legal Principles of Construction, Operation, Maintenance, Repair and Exploitation of Certain Means of Oil Transportation on the Territory of Georgia, as well as the Import, Transportation, Storage and Export of Oil by Means of Such Facilities - Deputy Economy and Sustainable Development Minister, Inga Phkhaladze, delivered a presentation.

According to her, the draft amendments are related to the issue of extending the operational period of the Baku–Supsa pipeline. The Committee approved the drafts.
