Representatives of the government are attending the Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral

President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze, and Head of the State Security Service Mamuka Mdinaradze are attending the Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Members of the Cabinet of Ministers and Members of Parliament are also present at the cathedral.

The Liturgy began at 09:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The divine service is being performed by the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne of All Georgia, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, together with the members of the Holy Synod of the Georgian Church. After 12:00 PM, His All-Holiness Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople – New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, together with the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne and the members of the Synod, will perform the funeral service (rite of burial) for His Holiness and Beatitude, Ilia II.
