Employees of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in close coordination with the relevant units of the Ministry, have deported 74 foreign citizens from Georgia in recent days.
The deported persons are citizens of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Turkmenistan, India, Jordan, Nigeria, Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Czech Republic, China and Turkey.
In accordance with the current legislation, they were banned from entering the country.
It should be outlined, that the strengthened legislative regulation based on the legislative amendments implemented last year and the intensive immigration control measures in terms of combating illegal migration have served as a preventive measure, leading to the voluntary departure of illegal migrants from Georgia.
According to the general data for January-February of the current year, 1,306 foreigners who had violated the terms of their legal stay in the country left Georgia, for which they were fined from 1,000 to 3,000 GEL based on Article 191 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and were additionally banned from entering the country for a period of one to three years.
