U.S. President told Fox News on Sunday that 48 leaders have been killed in U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
“It’s moving along. It"s moving along rapidly. This has been this way for 47 years”, Donald Trump was quoted as saying in an interview with a Fox News reporter. “It’s moving along rapidly. Nobody can believe the success we’re having, 48 leaders are gone in one shot. And it"s moving along rapidly”.
In a phone conversation with The Atlantic, the White House leader also noted that Iranian leaders now want to negotiate, which they should have done a long time ago: “One day after launching strikes on Iran that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and embroiled the region in war, President Trump told me this morning that the country’s new leadership wants to talk with him and that he plans to do so.
“They want to talk, and I have agreed to talk, so I will be talking to them. They should have done it sooner. They should have given what was very practical and easy to do sooner. They waited too long,” Trump told me in a phone call from his Mar-a-Lago resort shortly before 9:30 a.m”.
