The Georgian people deserve a dignified attitude from the European bureaucracy. They even managed to assess violence as violence regarding France and Albania, yet they failed to do the same in Georgia - Kobakhidze

In Georgia, European officials had an explicit objective to somehow replace the government with unconstitutional, blood-stained political parties; they tried at the ballot box and tried in the streets, but failed on both counts. Such a comment made today the Prime Minister of Georgia, when asked about the EU’s quick stance against demonstrator violence during recent unrest across Europe.

"It was not only in France, but also in Albania where similar events unfolded, and even regarding Albania, not just France, an EU member state, there were clear statements issued in support of the authorities.

There, they managed to call violence what it is and declared support for the government in maintaining stability.

Similarly, you may recall that analogous processes occurred in our friendly neighbouring country of Armenia about a year ago, where the European bureaucracy also made entirely proper statements.

Yet they failed to do the same when it came to Georgia. In Georgia, they had an explicit goal: to somehow bring about regime change in favour of bloody, unconstitutional political parties.

They tried through elections, and they tried in the streets; neither attempt succeeded. Treating the Georgian people in such a manner is fundamentally wrong. The Georgian people deserve a dignified, respectful approach from the European bureaucracy", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
