We didn`t leave the alliance; we found out yesterday that we were expelled, after we were missing from the logo- Tsitlidze on the opposition alliance

The confrontation within the opposition continues. The United National Movement [UNM] clarifies that they did not leave the alliance voluntarily and only learned about their expulsion from the coalition after being removed from the alliance’s logo.

Prior to this, however, the party had stated that they themselves no longer had any communication with the alliance.

According to Ana Tsitlidze, a member of the governing board of the UNM, any decision to leave the alliance from the party’s side would have required a resolution by the political council, which never took place.

"We didn`t leave; we found out yesterday that we were expelled from the alliance after it was published that we were not on the logo. Let me say clearly: for the UNM to leave [the alliance], it would have to be a decision of the political council. Following the attacks on Mikheil Saakashvili that were happening with particular frequency, etc., we weren’t actively involved in the alliance anyway, but we didn`t leave it", - said Ana Tsitlidze.
