Maka Botchorishvili meets with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

Within the framework of the high-level segment of the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Georgia`s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, held a meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Barham Ahmed Salih.

The Minister congratulated Barham Ahmed Salih on his election as High Commissioner for Refugees. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the cooperation between Georgia and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Particular attention was paid to the human rights and humanitarian situation in the occupied regions.

The Georgian side emphasized the involvement of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Geneva International Discussions. The High Commissioner positively assessed the assistance provided to Ukrainian refugees in Georgia and expressed gratitude to the Georgian side.
