Officers of Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police have detained a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan - M.T., born in 1989, in Zugdidi Municipality, on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a particularly large amount of drugs.

During a search of the defendant`s personal belongings and temporary residence, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of "Methadone" as evidence.

As a result of the investigative actions, the police also seized materials necessary for packaging the drug.

The investigation is underway under Article 260, Part III, Subparagraph "a" and Article 260, Part IV, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
