Trial of Juansher Burchuladze and his co-defendants has ended in Tbilisi City Court

The trial of former Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze, and his co-defendants - Giorgi Khaindrava, Vladimer Gudushauri and Vasil Mkheidze - was held in Tbilisi City Court.

One of the main witnesses in the case, the founder of the Kia Group, Zurab Tukvadze, who is in the US, was questioned and gave his testimony to the court remotely.

According to him, the purchase should have been secret and Vasil Mkheidze, Juansher Burchuladze’s wife’s brother, was supposed to bring 10% of the full purchase price to the then - Minister of Defense.

Juansher Burchuladze also made a speech at the hearing. “This was caused by the actions of my wife’s brother. If we did something wrong in the Ministry, I will share moral and financial responsibility”, - said the former Defense Minister.
