Georgia is a country that does not maintain diplomatic relations with Moscow and is nonetheless accused of being a Russian agent. I do not understand this - Zoran Milanović

Georgia is a country that does not maintain diplomatic relations with Moscow and is accused of being a Russian agent, I do not understand this. Such a statement the President of Croatia made after the meeting with his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Kavelashvili.

“I have come here to stand with Georgia in its efforts to maintain territorial integrity, and I fully support this cause.

Georgia has faced a difficult period over the past few years, and we must take this into account when assessing your country’s rapprochement with the EU. Unfortunately, the opposite is happening, and your country finds itself confronted with impossible dilemmas... The Brussels bureaucracy, the EU’s bureaucracy, is orchestrating this.

They cannot speak for me, and I will not allow them to speak on behalf of Croatia. That is why I have come here personally to say frankly: ‘There was no visit from the EU in 2025.

I apologize for this statement, but it is simply crazy.’ I wanted to visit a country that is accused of being pro-Russian, of having pro-Moscow or pro-Putin tendencies, but my experience has been quite different.

I may be mistaken, but this is a country that does not maintain diplomatic relations with Moscow and is nonetheless accused of being a Russian agent. I do not understand this, which is why I decided to come here in person to see for myself what is truly going on”, - said Zoran Milanović.
