Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance foiled the illegal import of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances into Georgia.
The police have detained 2 foreign citizens on charges of drug trafficking: an Israeli citizen, born in 1993, M.K., and a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 2003, O.G. Law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of various types of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances during the inspection of his personal belongings and hand luggage at Tbilisi International Airport.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 261, 262 and 263 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
