As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained two persons on the fact of commercial bribery and manufacturing and selling forged tax documents.

Investigation determined that the accused persons, on behalf of an institution accredited by the LEPL "The Unified National Accreditation Body of Accreditation - Accreditation Center" produced and sold a forged inspection certificate for a compressed natural gas vehicle system and gas balloon without performing any inspection of the vehicle. According to the certificate, the vehicle`s gas balloon system and the balloon itself allegedly complied with the requirements of Decree No.80 of the Government of Georgia, dated January 15, 2014, "On the Approval of the Technical Regulation on the Installation of Gas Ballon Systems on Motor Vehicles, Assessment of Their Compliance with Technical Requirements, and Safe Operation".

Intensive investigative activities are ongoing to identify similar criminal acts committed by the abovementioned accredited body and to establish the identity of other accomplices involved in the crime.

Investigation is underway under the parts one and three of the Article 221 and the first part the Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which as a type of sentence, envisage imprisonment from two to four years.
