Expired drugs and critical non-conformities - National Food Agency inspected veterinary clinics

Inspectors from the Tbilisi Department of the National Food Agency and specialists from the Veterinary Control Division revealed critical inconsistencies in veterinary clinics as a result of a state control conducted in Tbilisi.

"Out of 20 facilities inspected, violations were found in 8 veterinary clinics: LLC "Akhali Veterinary Clinic", individual entrepreneur D. S., LLC Veterinary Clinic "Vet.Art", LLC "DTNB", LLC "Zaravet", LLC "Vetcenter Zooplaza", individual entrepreneur T.Dz. (Bionika), and LLC "Vet. Hospital".

Two clinics were suspended due to inadequate sterilisation of instruments.

Other breaches included failure to adhere to vaccine storage protocols, the use of unregistered, expired, and unsuitable pharmaceuticals, as well as operating without registration in the Register of Economic Activities. The business owners involved have been fined. The National Food Agency continues to conduct ongoing oversight across veterinary clinics, pharmacies, and pet stores. This year alone, up to 1,500 facilities under veterinary jurisdiction are scheduled for inspection.

We urge consumers to report any violations by contacting the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture hotline at 1501. No message will go unanswered", - says the agency.
