The initiative of the Georgian Dream faction is to establish an interim commission in Parliament. The relevant draft resolution will be submitted to the Bureau on February 2, after which the issue will be put directly to the plenary session without prior committee consideration, said Speaker of the Parliament at today`s Bureau meeting.

According to him, following the adoption of the resolution, the Procedural Issues Committee will determine the number of members of the commission and, accordingly, calculate quotas for each faction and political group.

"However, the initiative of the Georgian Dream faction itself is that the commission be composed of 14 members. If the committee shares this initiative, the commission would include seven members from the Georgian Dream faction, three members from the People`s Power political group, three members from the For Georgia faction, and one member from the European Socialists political group. Therefore, I ask those who wish to participate in the commission`s work to determine their candidates in advance. Our goal is for the commission to begin its work as quickly as possible. The Majority Leader has also announced that it is the faction`s initiative for the commission to be chaired by Shota Berekashvili, Chair of the Economic Policy Committee. Accordingly, next week, Tuesday and Wednesday will be dedicated to the formation of the commission, and I hope that from Wednesday–Thursday the commission will be able to begin its work in full. The initiators have proposed a three-month mandate for the commission`s activities", - said Shalva Papuashvili.
