Polemics and debates are always welcome, they are a standard practice in all civilised and developed nations, said today the Mayor of Tbilisi.
“Unfortunately, in our country, insults, slander, and personal attacks have become commonplace, often carried out by certain political parties as part of their daily routine. We’ve repeatedly stressed the importance of open discussion. Let us recall the pre-election campaign at the municipal level, hardly anyone addressed the real challenges facing the capital; instead, trivial topics were invented and discussed”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
When asked why he does not participate in the TV Pirveli’s televised debates, he responded that, up to now, the channel has been solely engaged in spreading falsehoods.
“Pirveli TV is associated with lies and misinformation. When we speak of debates, we envisage a healthy, constructive society. This channel has been limited to propagating falsehoods.
I can speak from personal experience, you even lost a court case due to lies. You need to reconsider your programming and reflect on your role. If you truly wish to serve the public and tell the truth, you must address these issues”, - added the Mayor.
