According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the agency has not received information about the detention of Georgian citizens as part of the crew of a tanker detained by the United States in the Caribbean Sea on January 15.

As the Ministery explains, the Georgian Embassy in the US is carrying out relevant work to clarify the information disseminated in open sources regarding the presence of Georgian citizens as part of the crew.

Information has been disseminated in the media that there were 5 Georgian sailors on the tanker “Veronica” detained due to its connection with Venezuela.
