The Cross-Government Coordination Commission chaired by Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia will work on the prices of food products, medicines and fuel. The decision was made at the first meeting of the Commission, held today at the Government Administration.

Commission members discussed an action plan for the coming weeks. This includes meetings with producers, as well as representatives of retail chains and distribution companies. The cross-government commission will work in coordination with the relevant parliamentary committee and is expected to complete its work by the end of April.

Throughout the Commission work, the public will be provided with detailed information on the actual cost of products, what price components include and where unjustified price markups exist. Commission members hope that price reductions will begin already during the course of this work.

Members of the Cross-Government Coordination Commission include Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songhulashvili, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili, Head of the State Security Service Mamuka Mdinaradze, Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, Chairman of the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency Irakli Lekvinadze.
