Thanks to the extensive glacier survey carried out by GEOTEST in Georgia, the Georgian government now possesses a solid baseline of data, enabling it to begin managing associated risks effectively, said Daniel Tobler, an expert from the Swiss company GEOTEST.

"Periglacial regions across the country have been thoroughly studied… We understand the potential risks posed by these processes. Now, the government can start mitigating existing dangers, preventing new ones, and gradually reducing risks to a level that is acceptable for the country", - he added.

Today, the Swiss expert presented the findings of a study on glacial valleys to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze.
