Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the United States of America, representatives of the U.S. Military Group donated firefighting and communication equipment worth 234,150 USD to the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Darakhvelidze and Head of the Emergency Management Service Temur Mgebrishvili hosted a delegation of the U.S. military group and the Chargé d’Affaires, Alan Purcell, at the Emergency Management Service and held an official meeting.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the U.S. Military Group, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Underwood, the Defense Attache Colonel Jonathan Adams and the Bilateral Cooperation Officer, Major Alec Harrison.

The Georgian side expressed its gratitude to the American partners for their support. The Deputy Minister noted that the donated specialized equipment and technology would significantly enhance the operational capabilities of firefighters and rescuers and contribute to a more effective nationwide response to emergency situations.

The members of the delegation also toured the Emergency Management Service`s Operational Management Center, where they were briefed on the center`s key areas of activity and the specific features of the emergency response process.
