Heavy snowfall, blizzard, avalanche risk - National Environment Agency issues weather warning for January 13-14

On January 13, intermittent precipitation is expected in Georgia, heavy in some places, in the form of snow in the mountains, on January 14 in most parts of the country - snow, heavy in some places, strong westerly winds, and a storm of 4-5 points at sea.

"Fog, blizzard, freezing on power lines, ice jam and avalanche risk are expected in mountainous areas.

Due to heavy snowfall, blizzards, poor visibility, loose ice, and avalanche danger, traffic movement may be restricted on certain sections of roads. The expected precipitation may increase water levels in the rivers of Western Georgia, and may trigger landslides and mudslides in hilly and mountainous areas [danger level – medium]", - says the National Environment Agency.
