First Lady of Georgia extended Christmas wishes to those participating in the Alilo procession. Tamar Bagrationi was present at First Republic Square with her children and a grandchild.
She conveyed her heartfelt wishes to the people of Georgia for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year: “I extend my warmest congratulations to beautiful Georgia on the occasion of Christmas. I wish my people health, courage, and prosperity. I truly believe that love will be our salvation. May the Lord be our protector”.
Since 2000, with the blessing of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, the Nativity of Christ procession, known as “Alilo,” has been celebrated on a grand scale in Tbilisi, marking a special moment in the national religious calendar.
