The year 2026 is special for our country: next year we will mark the 1700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion, Prime Minister of Georgia said in his New Year message.
“The foundation laid in 2025 creates a solid precondition for the coming year to be even more successful for Georgia.
The year 2026 is special for our country: next year we will mark the 1700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion. Christianity is one of the main pillars of Georgia"s identity, shaping not only our faith but our culture as well.
I extend New Year greetings to His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, whose half-century of service has made an invaluable contribution to the strengthening of Georgia.
Our devotion to Christianity and the protection of God and the Most Holy Mother of God - Virgin Mary, have enabled us, despite many storms, to preserve our statehood and national identity over the centuries. All of this strengthens our belief that the Georgian Dream of a united Georgia will one day surely come true.
At the heart of Christianity lies love and love, in turn, is the very foundation of the strength of any individual or any state.
Therefore, I wish you all more love and more kindness. I wish you peace, health, happiness and progress in the new year 2026! May your life be filled with many future New Years”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
