Georgia and Serbia are connected by traditionally friendly relations and cultural proximity. Such a statement made today the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, who participates in the second session of the Georgia-Serbia Joint Governmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Belgrade.

“This foundation of human and cultural ties allows us to further strengthen our political dialogue, economic cooperation, and people-to-people contacts.

I wish to emphasise the mutual support and respect that Georgia and Serbia demonstrate towards one another’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

This year, we mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Serbia. This significant date allows us to speak about the growing dynamic of our bilateral relations.

The recent visit of the President of Georgia was significant in terms of bilateral readiness for the further deepening of cooperation between the countries… We welcome the Serbian government’s decision to open a permanent embassy in Tbilisi in the near future, which will be yet another important step towards deepening our partnership”, - said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
