Insulin produced by the Danish company Novo Nordisk is now available in Georgia, allowing kids with type 1 diabetes to access the NovoRapid prescription.

"Patients may choose to return to using NovoRapid under the previous treatment scheme or continue their therapy with its analogue, Apidra, manufactured by the French pharmaceutical company Sanofi Aventis.

Those who have been using Apidra from the outset have the option to maintain their current treatment. The Ministry has taken all necessary measures to ensure that NovoRapid is available in Georgia as swiftly as possible.

Ongoing communication with Novo Nordisk is actively being maintained to prevent similar issues from arising in the future… The delay in delivery was due to problems at the manufacturing plant, which prevented Novo Nordisk from supplying the pre-ordered medication to Georgia on time.
