As a result of various police operations, officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 4 persons on charges of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition.

As a result of personal searches of the detainees` and search activities held in residential homes, law enforcement officers seized 3 pistols, a hunting rifle, muzzleloaders and live cartridges as evidence. The drug "marijuana" was also seized from one of the detainees.

The investigation is underway under Articles 236 and 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning the imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years.
