President of Georgia responds to a letter from the EU Special Representative for Sanctions, David O`Sullivan, in an interview with Vakho Khuzmiashvili`s "Tavisupali Sivrce" [Free Space], in which he thanked the Georgian government for "the commitment expressed at the highest level and the steps already taken to prevent the circumvention of the EU sanctions against Russia".
"Representatives of the European Union, Britain and US came to discuss these issues and they made a similar assessment. Well, listen to what [Khatia] Dekanoidze said on Ukrainian television that there are some “black holes” in Georgia and she blamed her own country.
They don`t have an answer for that. Why do we call these people stateless? As the President, it is really difficult for me to call any citizen of Georgia that way, but unfortunately, this harm would have been done to our homeland, from which, in addition to the government, the awareness and intelligence of our society saved the country. I am saying this today because we are strong. Why are we strong? Because the majority knows very well where our country stands today", - said Mikheil Kavelashvili.
