The Ministry of Foreign Affairs [MFA] of Georgia releases a statement regarding the ongoing events in Nepal.

According to the agency, up to this point, the Ministry has not received any information about the presence of Georgian citizens in the disaster zone.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia is in contact with several Georgian citizens in Nepal who are safe. Until now, no information regarding the presence of Georgian citizens in the disaster zone has entered the agency. The Foreign Ministry is in contact with the relevant agencies", - says the MFA.

According to the latest data, 270 people have died in the disaster in Nepal. A devastating flood occurred near the Chinese border. A landslide also took place. Around 800 people are considered missing.
