We intend to invest USD 3 billion by 2028 to strengthen infrastructure in the Middle East countries - Asian Development Bank Vice President

At the ongoing Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi, Asian Development Bank Vice President (South, Central and West Asia) Yingming Yang spoke at a panel discussion titled "The Middle Corridor: From Reliability to Efficiency" about the trade and transport role of the Middle Corridor and the financing of infrastructure projects in participating countries.

"Political will and political stability are the starting point for further deepening regional integration. In the countries of the Middle Corridor, to strengthen infrastructure, the Asian Development Bank is going to invest USD 3 billion by 2028. On average, USD 750 million will be allocated annually.

For comparison, over the past 24 years, an average of USD 150 million was allocated annually.

Our desire is to increase logistics efficiency through the use and integration of digital tools and artificial intelligence, especially when we talk about the delivery of goods and services. Taking into account the digital components here is very important", - said the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank.
