We hope that in the future the EU will reconsider its attitude towards the Georgian people and, accordingly, towards the Government elected by the Georgian people – Kobakhidze

We hope that in the future the European Union will reconsider its attitude towards the Georgian people and, accordingly, towards the government elected by the Georgian people. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

As he noted, yesterday, at the meeting of foreign ministers in Luxembourg, there were attempts to impose sanctions, however, these decisions were not made.

“I would like to thank all relevant EU member states for their support. As a result of their support, sanctions were not actually imposed against the Georgian people, which is very important. We hope that in the future the EU will reconsider its attitude towards the Georgian people and, accordingly, towards the government elected by the Georgian people. I think this is mutually important, both for Georgia and the EU. If the EU’s pragmatic decision can be reconciled, it will be mutually interesting for both Georgia and the EU”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
