Police seize an especially large quantity of narcotics in Tbilisi

Officers from the Vake-Saburtalo and Gldani-Nadzaladevei Main Divisions of the Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 5 individuals, including 3 foreign nationals, at various times on drug-related charges.

During searches of the suspects’ persons and residences, as well as from various locations, law enforcement officers seized an especially large quantity of narcotics prepared for sale - marijuana and Alpha-PVP - as material evidence. As a result of covert investigative actions, police also recovered drugs previously sold by one of the detainees.

Law enforcement officers also seized materials required for packaging the narcotics.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260, 260 tertium, and 260 quartus of the Criminal Code, which carry a penalty of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
