In January-September 2025 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 18 545.0 million, 9.1% higher year-on-year. The exports equaled 5 151.4 million (7.7% higher), while the imports stood at USD 13 393.7 million (9.7% higher). The negative trade balance was USD 8 242.3 million in January-September 2025 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 44.4%, reads the report of GeoStat.

In January-September 2025 the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 79.7%. The top partners were Kyrgyzstan (USD 1 080.5 million), Kazakhstan (USD 658.5 million) and Russia (USD 543.1 million).

In January-September 2025 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 71.1%. The top partners were USA (USD 2 060.0 million), Türkiye (USD 2 027.0 million) and China (USD 1 430.6 million).

In January-September 2025 the share of the top ten trading partners in the total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 68.5%. The top trading partners were Türkiye (USD 2 264.8 million), USA (USD 2 127.1 million) and Russia (USD 1 898.5 million).

In January-September 2025 motor cars claimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 2 003.9 million with 38.9% of total exports. The exports of precious metal ores and concentrates totaled USD 276.2 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 5.4%. The exports of spirituous beverages occupied the third place standing at USD 200.7 million and constituting 3.9% of the total exports.

The top import commodities in January-September 2025 were motor cars, whose imports equaled USD 2 805.1 million (20.9% of the total imports). The petroleum and petroleum oils followed in the list with USD 972.2 million (7.3% of imports). The Medicaments put up in measured doses were third in the top import commodity list with USD 510.7 million (3.8% of imports).
