Police detained a Turkish citizen for the illegal purchase, storage and attempted sale of narcotics

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained A.S., a Turkish citizen born in 1980, in Tbilisi on the fact of attempted illegal purchase, storage and sale of narcotics.

The crime is punishable by up to 6 years of imprisonment.

As a result personal search of A.S., law enforcement officers also seized 20 packages of narcotics prepared for sale from various places as evidence, and a large amount of loose and crystalline mass containing narcotics, as well as an electric scale, were seized from the detainee"s apartment. The police detained A.S. as a suspect.

The investigation is underway under Article 260 of the Criminal Code.
