Prime Minister of Georgia hopes that the European Union would a "deficit of independence and sovereignty" before Georgia`s potential membership becomes a topic of discussion.

"Unfortunately, events unfolded on the European continent that caused serious damage to the whole of Europe, including the EU specifically. Unfortunately, the European bureaucracy was not strong enough to protect Europe`s objective interests. The main reason for this is that the European bureaucracy, unfortunately, is essentially managed by external influences, and consequently, they find it difficult to make decisions based on objective interests.

The deficit of sovereignty is the main problem across Europe. There are only a few states left across Europe that firmly defend their independence and sovereignty. This is a common problem.

We hope that by the time the issue of Georgia`s accession to the EU is on the agenda, the EU will overcome all these problems, which are related to the deficit of independence and sovereignty", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
