The first phase of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port construction would be completed no later than 2029, said the Prime Minister if Georgia during his annual report to the Parliament.

“The preparatory works had already begun at the Anaklia site, including dredging and the construction of breakwaters.

The first phase of this project will be completed no later than 2029, although given the pace, we believe that the first phase can be completed in a much shorter time frame. In total, USD 600 million will be invested in the first phase, and after the completion of the first phase, the port will serve more than 600 000 containers per year.

The Anaklia Port project has great importance for the country, specifically for the Samegrelo. It is important to implement and complete this project within the appropriate time frame”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
