Police have formally arrested Givi Targamadze, former member of the Parliament from the United National Movement.
Following a court ruling, he proceeded to the Vake police station, where law enforcement officers presented him with charges and took him into custody.
The Tbilisi City Court sentenced Givi Targamadze to 7 months in prison for failure to comply with the directives of the parliamentary temporary investigative commission, which was examining the activities of the 2003–2012 government and its officials.
