Embassy of Georgia in Israel issued safety recommendations for Georgian citizens currently in the country

The Embassy of Georgia in Israel has issued safety recommendations for Georgian citizens currently in the country, citing the rapidly evolving and complex security situation.

The advisory urges all Georgian nationals to follow essential safety protocols and adhere strictly to local authority instructions in the event of heightened alerts.

In light of the current circumstances, where the security environment remains tense and subject to rapid change, the Embassy reminds citizens of the following important steps to take in case the situation escalates:

Upon the activation of a Red Alert siren:

-Seek shelter immediately. It is advisable to know the location of the nearest shelter or protected space in advance.
-If indoors: Close all doors and windows, and move to a designated protected space within the building.
-If outdoors: If there is no shelter nearby, lie on the ground face down and cover your head with your hands.
-If in a vehicle: Stop at the side of the road, exit the vehicle, and find the nearest shelter. If no shelter is available, lie down on the ground face down and cover your head with your hands.

Additional guidance:

-Do not remain near building entrances.
-You may leave the shelter 10 minutes after the end of the alert signal, provided there are no further instructions from authorities.
-Do not approach downed aerial objects or drones. If such an object is located, inform the police immediately.
-Tourists currently in Israel are advised to remain inside their hotels during sirens and avoid visiting tourist sites.

Avoid all public gatherings.

-Steer clear of areas with a heavy presence of law enforcement personnel.
-In case of emergency, Georgian citizens in Israel can contact the Embassy at the following numbers: +972 526 919092 (24/7 hotline) / +972 3 609 3206

We wish peace to Israel and its people”, - reads the statement.
