Zurab Japaridze`s trial is underway at the Tbilisi City Court

The trial of Zurab Girchi Japaridze on the case of failure to appear before the temporary investigation commission is underway at the Tbilisi City Court.

Today, the parties are to make introductory statements. Japaridze is also attending the hearing. Representatives of the Czech Embassy are also in the hall.

One of the leaders of the "Coalition for Change" has been charged under Article 349. He was granted bail of 20,000 GEL as a preventive measure, which he did not pay. Japaridze was arrested in the courtroom on May 22.
