Draft Budget of the Parliament for 2026 approved

The Parliament deliberated on the Draft Budget of the Parliament for 2026, introduced to the plenary session by the Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili.

As Speaker Papuashvili underscored, the draft budget has been developed in line with the Rules of Procedure and with the engagement of the structural units of the Parliament.

“The key parameters of the draft budget 2026 remain unchanged at the index of 2025. The forecast amount of the budget constitutes 91,5 ml GEL”, - he elucidated.

47,7 ml GEL shall be allocated for the labor remunerations; the amount saved for the current year constitutes 6,5 ml GEL, which is conditioned with the termination of credentials for 49 MPs.

Pursuant to the Draft, Article on “Goods and Services” is planned in the amount of 31 ml GEL. The Article also envisages the internship program currently applied in the Parliament. The Articles on “Grants” and “Social Provisions” also remain unchanged and hence, are determined by 0,15 and 0,9 ml GEL. The capital expenditure are determined by 6,7 ml GEL, including the rehabilitation and restoration of the Parliament Palace, as well as the modernization of IT and other technical equipment.

The Parliament approved the Draft with 84 votes.
