The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has summoned the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom, Gareth Ward.

The British diplomat was met by the Minister Maka Botchorishvili.

The Georgian side expressed concern over the imposition of sanctions by the United Kingdom against Georgian officials. Maka Botchorishvili explained that such actions harm the existing friendship between the two countries.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that an objective and impartial assessment of the ongoing processes in Georgia is particularly important. At the end of the meeting, the hope was expressed that cooperation between the foreign ministries of Georgia and the UK will return to positive dynamics.
