Irakli Kobakhidze meets Alain Berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe

Prime Minister of Georgia held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe today.

Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized the significance of Alain Berset’s visit and highlighted the Council of Europe"s substantial contribution to implementing reforms in Georgia and advancing the country"s European integration process.

Discussions during the meeting touched on the productive cooperation between Georgia and the Council of Europe, as well as ongoing developments in the country.

“We had a very friendly and productive meeting, discussing the current developments in the country and the cooperation between Georgia and the Council of Europe. We agreed to continue close collaboration between our country and the Council of Europe. Since the 1990s, we have enjoyed a very close partnership. Our aim is to further strengthen this cooperation. The role of the Secretary General himself is particularly significant in this process, and we are confident that Mr. Berset will continue to support our country in all areas”, - said the Prime Minister.

The meeting was attended by Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia; Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of Government Administration and Tamar Taliashvili, Permanent Representative of Georgia to the Council of Europe.
