The Executive Secretary of Georgian Dream said a phone conversation between the French President Emmanuel Macron and Bidzina Ivanishvili, Honorary Chairman of the ruling party, had dismayed the opposition.

As Mamuka Mdinaradze said, the opposition did not expect such communication between Macron and Ivanishvili.

“There are 3 topics, which the US President-elect Donald Trump and the Georgian Dream are sharing - the end of the war in Ukraine, the law on transparency of foreign influence as well as the law on family values and protection of minors.

That is why yesterday’s call actually dismayed the opposition. The conversation concerned, among other things, the release of detainees [detained at protest rallies], this should have its own legislative basis.

A perpetrator is held accountable under the relevant law, a person detained under administrative law is held accountable under the relevant law, they will be released sooner.

Other persons who are held accountable, the process will continue as usual”, - said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
