Employees of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained five persons on the fact of storing and transporting a particularly large quantity of excisable goods subject to mandatory marking without excise marks.

As a result of investigative activities, 6,160 boxes of non-excise cigarettes of various brands were seized from the residential house of one of the accused, while 600 boxes were seized from a vehicle. The total market value of the seized products amounts to GEL 37,856.

Investigation is underway under Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
